It’s no doubt sometimes using “VEA” to connect and manage VERITAS
Volume manager is handy.
All of a sudden I
ended up getting errors: V-39-53247-1 error “Could not connect to server.
Server may be down.” This is from my Linux host to Solaris 10 64bit Sparc
Apparently, something weird happened to vxsvc service.
This post is for Solaris 10 but should work for other
Solaris OS.
This is what I did to
troubleshoot & resolve:
1. Check service status:
/opt/VRTS/bin/vxsvcctrl status
Current state of server : RUNNING
2. If the service is running but not showing VxVM objects,
restart it:
/opt/VRTS/bin/vxsvcctrl stop
3./opt/VRTS/bin/vxsvcctrl start to restart service
try connecting now!
If the problem persist examine logs: /var/vx/isis/vxisis.log
